| The area of Nawrot and Sienkiewicza (the "old town centre" of Lodz) currently undergoes an extensive redevelopment sponsored amongst others by the EU. The aim is to turn it into the representative centre of Lodz. There are a some new developments in the area which are being built next to the beautiful restored 19th century town houses and mansion blocks. The area is bound by Piotrkowska, which at the moment is definitely the nicest street in Lodz, with a majority of the city's top-end restaurants, shops and boutiques; and by Pilsudskiego, which serves as the main artery of the city facilitating quick transport to and from the area. The Lodz Fabryczna train station one of the 2 train stations in the city), provides a swift transport to Warsaw (currently under 2 hours, which is planned to be reduced to under 1 hour by 2009). In the close proximity, of this "old town centre" of Lodz is another area which is becoming an interesting residential area, called Ksiezy Mlyn, where the first lofts in Poland are scheduled to be built.
