| Opatija is famous Croatian tourist resort on Adriatic sea with 32 hotels, sea port and two marinas for yachts and boats, sport contents (tennis, yachting, hiking, trekking, swimming pool, driving mountain bike, diving, wind surfing...). It has around 10 natural beaches and 5 big private beaches. Also it has 3 casinos, night clubs and disco bars. And in summer there is open theater where you can watch movies, concerts etc. There is around 20 restaurants with wide choice of dishes.
Near Opatija is town called Rijeka (River town) which has ferry, bus station, railway station and airport (is located on island Krk which is one hour drive from Opatija). In Rijeka there is 3 shopping malls (Tower Center, Korzo and Ri) and big stores (like Metro, Billa, Lidl, Bauhaus etc.) There is also big stores in Opatija ( Billa, Lidl and local stores Plodine and Konzum) where you can buy all your supplies for home.
You can arrived in Opatija from Munich (Germany) for 5 hours drive with car, from Trieste (Italy) 1 hour drive with car, from Croatian capital city Zagreb (which also have airport) 1.5 hour drive with car, from Pula (Croatian town located in Istra with airport also) 1 hour drive with car. |
