Tower soars to new heights

COOLANGATTA'S Reflection on the Sea, Tower Two, has cemented its place as a premier development on the Coast after it

was handed the top honour at the Queensland Master Builders awards.

Built by Matrix Residential Projects, the luxury apartment development was awarded state project of the year as well

as a second category in the Master Builder's State Housing and Construction Awards this month.

The 20-storey residential tower and commercial precinct is the "icing on the cake" for its developer, Niecon

Developments, which was also responsible for the first of the two towers fronting Marine Parade.

"Niecon started the millennium with the goal of becoming the Gold Coast's premier builder of luxury apartments",

said chief operating officer Mark Johnson.

"We believe we have been successful. We have won a string of awards with our Aqua tower at Labrador and with

the first Reflection tower."

Master Builders executive director Graham Cuthbert said the categories were hotly contested and the calibre of work

meant that only the entries that demonstrated the highest skills were selected as finalists in the annual housing and

construction awards.

"There is a high level of aesthetic design and workmanship from the marble bathrooms in the luxury suites to the

high-quality finishes in the standard apartments," Mr Cuthbert said of Reflection by the Sea, Tower Two.

It would seem the industry judges were not the only ones to like what they saw at Reflection with only one of the 121

apartments -- a $4 million-plus luxury penthouse with private pool-- left for sale.

Niecon Developments is capitalising on the popularity of the southern Gold Coast and border region with the

development of another luxury residential development at Kirra Beach called Nirvana by the Sea.

"We are now doubling our efforts to set new benchmarks for luxury and design with Nirvana after winning the awards

for Reflections," said Mr Johnson, adding construction of the blue chip development had now reached the 10th

storey and would be completed by late 2009.

"Nirvana is 85 per cent sold and the average price achieved is $1.405 million, which illustrates that buyers are keen to taste Niecon quality and luxury."
