The house is situated about 100m from Jörntrasket, an exquisite lake over 2km in length, renown for its fishing, boating and bathing facilities. There is easy access to the lake from the house.
The property is situated in Österjörn, a tiny peaceful hamlet, 4km from the village of Jörn in Skellefteå Kommun, Västerbotten.
The internal living space of approximately 250m2 is laid out over two floors. With a wood-burning boiler that produces gallons of hot water, the flick of a switch converts the energy supply to electric heating for water and warmth - there are radiators throughout the property. From the photographs, you can see that Lakeside has some beautiful features, including solid wooden floors and lake views from most of the house.

There are neighbours on both sides of the property who we have found to be friendly, helpful and charming although it is rare that we ever see them – they respect the privacy of others. However, they have been helpful in keeping an eye on the property when we are not there – as we have been using the property as a weekend retreat.
Lakeside is a very desirable property and is clean and ready to move into. We have even decorated some interior areas that has ‘freshened’ this large property. Although built in a traditional manner with lots of wood inside and out, the exterior of the property is clad in steel – which means that it never needs painting, unlike most Swedish houses that require external painting every five years or so.
Lakeside is ready for occupation and I have included some bits of furniture in the price. Of course, white goods (fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher) are also included in the sale price.
Purchase of property is easy in Sweden, and I understand that there are no restrictions on ownership by foreigners. I own the property and until recently, lived in Sweden. There are no unscrupulous agents to deal with – and that is why I am able to offer the property at a low selling price.

The property is situated in Österjörn, a tiny peaceful hamlet, 4km from the small town of Jörn in Skellefteå Kommun, Västerbotten. Being off the main route, there is little traffic but ample opportunity to witness the vast array of wildlife that inhabits this area – foxes, otters, elk and numerous species of birds throughout the year, with regular reindeer sightings adjacent to the property during the winter months.
The town of Jörn is situated on the main 95 route running west out of Skellefteå towards Arvidsjaur, and even has its own small quaint railway station with regular services to Stockholm, Luleå, Kiruna, Jokkmokk, etc.
Airports are located at Skellefteå (approx. 50km), Arvidsjaur (approx. 80km) and Lycksele (approx. 70km).
Jörn has a supermarket, shops, bank, garage, chemist, health centre, etc. The nearest ski resort is less than 20km away at Storklinta, although Skellefteå also has ski facilities and all other amenities associated with a small city. Other nearby urban areas include Boliden (27km), Norsjö (51km), and Myrheden (35km). |
