Area Information |
| Bourpeuil lies between L’Isle Jourdain in the commune of Le Vigeant. It is 55km from Poiters and 85km from Limoges, the former served by RyanAir and the latter by RyanAir snd Flybe, and both by the rail network. The sub-prefecture of Montmorillon is 35km away.
If you Google Earth ‘Bourpeuil’ you’ll get a good overview of the area especially the old rail viaduct across the Vienne. The area is almost completely dedicated to farmland interspersed with woods and valleys. There are some very good walk and cycle ways. Some 5km from Bourpeuil is Le Vigeant F3 race track, an R&D centre which is busy with clubs and teams most of the year round, and is rated as France’s sixth circuit. Renault are currently involved in an upgrade of the circuit. Futuroscope is just over an hour’s drive roughly following the direction of Poitiers.
L’Isle Jourdain is well-served by shops, bars, cinema, aqautic centre, holiday village, restaurants, doctors and other healthcare services. The supermarket that opens seven days a week.
The nearest bar/restaurant/tabac - the Hotel Viaduc - is five minutes walk away, the shops five minutes drive. |
