This former Victorian School and it’s numerous outbuildings were built circa 1883, mainly of local granite and stone. It has been beautifully renovated to an exceptional standard in a modern minimalist style with kind regard to it’s many original features. This building has a beautiful Victorian roof with decorative gable ends. The roof was recently replaced with new traditional uneven slates, new lead flashing and guttering. Presently being on one level, there is a large traditional oak beamed vaulted roof that spans half of the property that could be used to add additional rooms above. Underfloor central heating has been installed throughout the house leaving no radiators or other means of heating visible thus maximizing space and reducing drafts. | The Old School House is set in the small friendly village of Traboe which can be found in the area of outstanding natural beauty of Cornwall’s Lizard peninsular. The village of Traboe is a small village of eight unique and traditional houses and is very quiet and peaceful.
The village of Traboe is very peaceful, being on a small very quiet road found off the B3273. However a mile away is the main St Keverne to Helston road. An excellent range of facilities including schools, local hospital, sports center and shops can be found in nearby Helston or St Keverne. There is also an excellent Organic farm shop a pleasant walk away (less than a mile). Very friendly rural community. |
