On a hill covered with pine-trees and some eucalyptus, it’s only possible to see 3 other houses from it and it’s less than 1Km from the town centre. Great view! Very quite and peaceful. Barril has a few restaurants, a community centre, a health centre, a philharmonic society, an elementary school and a fluvial beach (Alva river). Coja is just 4 Km away, very touristic, crossed by Alva, with a camp site, restaurants, banks, pharmacy, schools, aerodrome, B&B… Arganil is the municipal capital, 16Km from Barril. Coimbra is the district capital 60 Km away, 3rd largest city in the country, with a very old and renowned University.
