| The village of Kirkpatrick Fleming lies just off Junction 21 of the A74(M). This allows good access from the south, with Carlisle about ten miles distant and the M6 beyond this.
Northwards, the motorway continues to Glasgow, with Edinburgh also within easy reach.
Locally, Gretna is about four miles, and there is a direct B-road to Annan about five miles away. There is a railway station at Gretna which allows rail travel to either the County town of Dumfries or Carlisle.
The main West Coast rail-line goes through Carlisle.
There are national chain stores in both Dumfries and Carlisle, with a selection of theatres, cinemas and other entertainment. There are supermarkets and other local shopping in Lockerbie, Gretna and Annan and there is a convenience store in Kirkpatrick Fleming, as well as garage and hotel. |
