| SSchwerin is the capital town of the German county Mecklenburg Vorpommern, which is known as the holiday and wellness county because of it's many lakes, spas and seaside resorts.
There are 7 lakes in Schwerin, including the beautiful and natural Ostorfer Lake, opposite this flat. It is a perfect location for a watersports or fishing holiday, or just for enjoying the scenery.
Schwerin is currently undergoing a huge revamp to prepare for the national garden show (BUGA) in 2009. In particular the castle gardens are being extended with new 'floating' garden, which begins at the end of the road, and a new promonade which goes along the lake side past the castle.
There could be a huge opportunity for short term rental accommodation for the BUGA, which is likely to attract many thousands or visitors from all over the world.
Hamburg (1 hour), Berlin (1.5 hours) and Luebeck (45 mins) all have budget airlines servicing them from the UK and mainland Europe. |
