View Full Version : Where to buy 2006
Quest Bulgaria 02-04-2006, 04:48 PM Hi everyone, this is the most asked question of everyone of our readers.. which area to buy in???
OK, with the arrival of true low cost airlines (70 pounds return) and EU entry imminent.... some of our impartial and independent hot tips for 2006 are :
Coastal - south of Bourgas...
Ski - Pamporovo....
Rural and Mountains - Svoge, Apriltsi....
City - Plovdiv....
There are many more possibilities, perhaps even better than the above, which we highlight every month and give updates on what is happening in the above areas during the year
Hope to see you all soon, if you need any help, please do email
All the best, Jain
lucy&andy 02-23-2006, 12:59 PM Hi there
We have been looking at buying a house in one of the villages about 20 km outside Pleven. Would you recommend this sort of area for a nice rural holiday home?
Many thanks for any advice

Quest Bulgaria 02-27-2006, 06:32 PM Hi there Lucy
I can of course tell you the areas of Bulgaria I like.... but this does not mean they are right for you. Do you have a preference for where you want to be? What type of countryside do you like? What is the property for? Do you need or want neighbours, nightlife, quick access from the UK? Or do you want peace and tranquility? Lots of questions which only you can answer really. Have you been to bg yet?

vicky 03-18-2006, 08:37 PM I've been looking at property about 20km from pamporovo. Is this too far away to be rented out? How popular is this resort? Also how easy is access to the med for summer hols from this area? It says near to the greek and turkish borders. It looks close on the map but I know this can be deceiving. Thanks.

Hi Vicky, so sorry for taking so long to get back to you... but what with work and all that stuff, some things take time.
Anyway, Pamporovo is not too far at all and is so very popular with the Bulgarians I think it is well worth looking there - you'll find really good priced property too - if you want to email me to get more info, please do - I'll do all I can to help
All the best, Jain
vicky 04-25-2006, 08:40 PM hi thanx for replying i love to ski and thought it would be a good area to buy.
i have already seen a house i would like to buy in smoylan. not sure what to do next?? do i really need to go over and veiw?
Quest Bulgaria 04-27-2006, 06:10 PM Hi Vicky
Glad you've found something that might suit... in answer, no you do not have to come over to view - but I would certainly recommend you do. Internet sites and photos never tell the whole story (they don't in the UK either) and you can only get that real "feel" for the place when you get here and stand next to that property.
Do you not have time to visit? Do you need some help getting more photos or information? Do you need the agent checking out? Do you need to talk to expats in the area? We'll do what we can if you need something. Do email me or post here if you need some help; we're happy to assist.
All best wishes

Stan_Jones 05-08-2006, 04:51 PM You are not aking me but i think that Smolian is very nice place to buy a house for holiday vacations. But if you think of letting the place you will have to consider something closer to the skiruns. May be an apartment in Bansko will do the trick. You will be able to ski during your holiday and let the apartment the rest of the season. The closer to the ski runs the more expensive - but - the more profitable. All depends on the purpose of buying a property and the capital that you are ready to invest.
Regards
Stan
Quest Bulgaria 05-09-2006, 06:37 PM You're right Stan, Smolyan is lovely - even breathtaking - but there is a lot of 'digging' going on there right now as they are creating new dams and man made lakes so you need to be careful where you are thinking of buying.
For another thought, has anyone considered Svoge recently? With the agreement now made between the Mayor of Sofia and Ferry Group Spain, the new golf course and development around should be up and running real soon.
Also, there are so many lovely parts of Bulgaria it is difficult to say where is best for rural properties, depends so much on what you like and what you want. If anyone would like information on a particular area, please do just post or email and we'll do our best.
Cheers
Quest Bulgaria Team
kokov 05-17-2006, 07:31 PM i know many places where you can buy properties and you will be satisfied:) :)
krille 02-19-2007, 10:56 PM There is not such a thing as the ideal place. What you have to ask is what is the ideal place for my circumstances.
Before you buy a property or invest in property you have to first establish exactly what you want from that property.
Do you want a place which is your ideal place (some people's ideal location is far away from everything, away from the hussle and bustle from daily life).
Other peoples ideal property is in the middle of the city centre lose to all amenities.
Some people buy a holiday property just because they want the place of their dreams and do not have to worry about renting it out to pay the mortgage.
Some people buy a holiday property as a speculative investment, for them renting out the property + chosing a location in which they can expect good capital growth is a must.
So the best thing to do is really have a good think about what you want to achieve, then research the area you want to buy into (compare it to other areas), research who you will buy from and then finally take the plunge.

Hi Vicky, if your looking for a rural property near the med you want to go in the yambol region thats about 120 km from the black sea coast thats about 1 and half hours away. If your interested i can help you with a property search.
