The closer to the sea the better. My advice is to search for properties in the villages that have something interesting nearby - river, sea, lake, dam, forest, montain. Villages that are interesting to the people. Because people don't buy the property it self, they buy peace and quiet, they buy a nice view, they buy what they dream about, what they can't receive at home. If you need to have a better idea of the areas good to put your money in I suggest you come to Bulgaria and look around, spend several days only viewing different places. Because noone can tell you the whole story. You have to be here to see and get a feeling of the place. You have to be able to tell the story your self. Then you can decide where and what to buy.

Thank you Pachou for your advise and observations ,my partner and I intend to visit BG sometime in Ocotber for 7 days and hope to set off on a fact finding mission,a big factor for us would be the proximity of the property to an Airport .We are hireing a vehicle for the week, so unfortunatley we are going to be limited to a time constraint. We hope that we are able to find something suitable in the short time that we have available to us . I am
a General Builder so I would prefer a property needing some work doing to it rather than an off plan property at one of the resorts .but something as you suggested in the surrounding villages/mountains or towns would be fine.
All the best

Hi Draig,

I hope that the one week period will be enough for you to get a notion of what is going on in Bulgaria. Definitely if you are coming in October you have enough time to investigate the potential regions and the properties available in them. The tricky part is to learn more about the market and its intensity.
My suggestion is to do your homework and get down in Bulgaria prepared to make the first step. The properties that are good for remodeling or renovation are getting less and less every day (as the date of EU membership gets closer) and especialy near the air port.
The company I work for is based in Bourgas and operates mainly in the south black sea coast. I can make some information packages for the certain profit potential region and at the end after mutual agreement to arrange you a tight schedule of viewing trips.

If you think that working with a Bulgarian agent (that knows the way the things go) will be helpful our company will be more than ready to assist you.

Regards
Stan

Yeaa, Scums like this one makes the things in Bulgaria more and more difficult for people like me to get that trust of the Foreign clients. But I`m very hapy that someone is doing a great job by posting this blog and trying to find the bastard. I`m gonna look around for his face and actions and if I see him will post you immediately.

Thank You All For The Advise And Observations ,i Have Heard About This Bloke Bill And His Exploits ,and I Fully Agree With You All That This Man Should Be Exposed For What He Is Doing To His Fellow Country Men / Women. Please Remember That Any Self Respecting Builder Will Have Pride In Their Work And Reputition And Would Have Enough Confidence In The Quality Of Thier Workmanship That No Advances Of Moneys In Any Way Should Be Released By The Client, Until Their Are Totally Happy With The Work Carried Out . Most Reputable Builders Would Have No Problem With This . So Dont Part With Any Money What So Ever Until You Are Fully 100% Satisfied.
