Buying Ski Properties in Switzerland

Switzerland is one of the most beautiful places in Europe to take a ski holiday. The mountain resorts offer clean air and perfect snow conditions at an affordable price. Ski resorts such as Verbier and Crans Montana in the Valais region of Switzerland are very popular with tourists from around the world. Each winter many thousands of skiers travel to the Swiss Alps to ride the snowy slopes in these resorts and to enjoy the resort atmosphere.

Accommodation

There is a range of accommodation in the Swiss Alps to suit all vacation budgets. Many of the mountain ski resorts have extensive hotel accommodation, as well as a selection of rental chalets and ski apartments. Crans Montana and some of the other Swiss ski areas in the Valais region also have a good selection of ski properties to buy and own.

The Valais region incidentally is one of the few places in Switzerland where foreign investors can buy property. In many other regions of the country foreign investors are prohibited from buying properties. Places like Zurich and Bern restrict investment from outside Switzerland.

Prices of Switzerland ski properties are actually very reasonable. In the Valais region Switzerland ski properties for sale include apartment accommodation from as little as 120,000 euros. These apartments are in chalet-style architecture and are built as ski-in/ski-out properties. There are also luxury ski apartments and mountain chalets for sale. Some Swiss ski chalets in the more prestigious mountain resorts of Switzerland can be purchased for between 300,000 euros and 500,000 euros.

Why buy a Swiss Ski Property when you can Rent one?

Buying a ski property in Switzerland in a vacation resort such as Crans Montana or Ovronnaz is a good investment move. Not only can you travel to Switzerland and enjoy the holiday resort at any time of the year, you can also hire out the chalet or apartment and receive a rental income from it. Some property investors who have purchased ski homes in Swiss ski resorts currently enjoy rental returns upwards of 5% on their Switzerland ski properties, while also having access to them for parts of the winter and summer months to take cheap holidays.

Switzerland Ski Properties or French Ski Properties?

Over the years Swiss ski properties have been perceived as being high-priced. Today this is not the case. In fact when you compare ski chalets and ski apartments in Switzerland to similar properties in the French mountain resorts of Val d Isere, Meribel or Chamonix, you are likely to find that the price of Swiss property is cheaper than in France.

As an example, a 2-bed luxury ski property in Crans Montana with stunning views of the Alps can be yours for just 480,000 euros. See http://www.propertymagnate.com/prope...ntana-176.html for details.

In Val d Isere in France the same type of luxury property will cost you a minimum of 750,000 euros.

Is it time you invested in a ski property in Switzerland?
