Default Are alien citizens allowed to buy property in Bulgaria - 11-24-2004, 07:32 AM

Alien citizens (natural persons) are not allowed to own land on Bulgarian territory (prohibited by the Constitution). However, the Foreign Investments Act, allows alien legal persons, i.e. with registered local business companies to purchase and own real estates. Following the registration, or the entry into a business company registered in accordance with local legislation, any alien shall be able to acquire full ownership rights on estates, including on agricultural land.
