About this 4 - Detached |
A charming, four bedroom, 15th century farmhouse exhibiting a wealth of period features, with beautiful views and just under one acre of established garden. Three reception rooms. Aga.
The name School Farm derives from this being the farm that provided Cranbrook School with most of its produce for several hundred years. It was owned by Cranbrook School, which was founded in 1518, from the 17th Century until it was sold in 1904.
School Farm is a picturesque detached period house, built in the traditional old world Kentish style having a Kent peg tiled roof and side elevations peg tile hung. The house, which is believed to date from c.1430, has an old Inglenook fireplace and a wealth of exposed timbers, including a cruck beam. It is a Grade II listed building, situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). It enjoys fine views over countryside to the North Downs.
There is an oil fired Aga which provides hot water for the whole house. In addition, heating is provided by a wood burning stove and night storage electric radiators.
