| The town (pop 1000) is mainly medieval with 20 stone towers hidden among the buildings yet it has all facilities – two schools, doctors, dentist, post office, banks, grocers, bakers, butchers etcetera. It is situated between two market towns – St Poucain in the northeast and Gannat in the south, and within an hours journey of Moulins, Vichy, or Clermont Ferrand.
The area is green and lush with woodlands, vineyards, and charolais cattle. An impressive history with many chateaux and the nearby village of Charroux – a nationally acclaimed historic site
