| The town of Gyöngyös is located in the valley of Mátra mountain, where the country’s highest peak belongs to. The town is really close (80 km) to the capital city, Budapest and is connencted to it through the M3 highway. Gyöngyös has a population of 40.000 and has some other features which give it advantages over other cities from the same location. It has supermarkets (for example TESCO or OBI) which are the only ones in a 40 km radius, but this can be said about the hospital, which is in the town,too. There are elemental schools, secondary and grammary schools and an agricultural college too. Gyöngyös has beautiful reformed and catholitic churches, parks, malls and a newly renovated large square as the central of the town. The town is developing, it has a lately constructed sports centre, a beach with indoor-swimming pools and a zoo among other things. The main thing from the advantages of the town is the nearness of the nature. The Mátra has reach wildlife which allows the people hiking, hunting there. The latest investment of Gyöngyös were the construction of a huge outdoor leisure center and the ski-truck which starts at the Kékes peak. |
