Area Information |
Altinkum is a relatively small, lively and friendly resort. It is actually the beach area of the town of Didim, the centre of which is 3km to the north. Visitors are mainly Turkish and British, with some 2,000 expats having chosen to live here permanently.
Holidaymakers are mostly families and the older generation, which means that as well as the tourist attractions there also many quiet corners to be found.
Altinkum means “Golden Sands” and with its beaches which gently shelve into the warm inviting turquoise blue Aegean sea you will soon see how the resort gained its name. Set on a sandy bay, Altinkum is a purpose built resort with a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
This is a place for people who love the beach; there are no fewer than three within easy reach, and all have been awarded the Blue Flag.
