| It is located in the centre of La Manga town, at the highest point of the peninsula, with gorgeous views of the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean and with the mountains of Calblanque and Murcia as a backdrop. Built in the third phase, the low rise Monteblanco E block was completed in 2003. The house has three double bedrooms (bedroom 3 is currently furnished as a study/office), spacious living room, two luxury bathrooms with showers, a well-equipped kitchen, as well as two balconies overlooking the sea and a roof terrace with spectacular panoramic views. In ideal conditions, because of the elevation, the views extend southwards to the North African coast and to Ibiza in the northeast.
There are fabulous beaches on the Mediterranean Sea as well as all around the Mar Menor which is particularly safe because the water is shallow and the beaches are very gently sloping. Most of the year all of the beaches are more-or-less deserted. It gets busier in midsummer because La Manga is a Spanish seaside resort and is a popular destination for Spanish holidaymakers in July and August. For the rest of the year La Manga is quieter. The climate is just about the best in Europe.
Locally there are shops, restaurants, tennis courts, a mini-golf course, a multitude of watersports and a children's playground. Within a few kilometers is the La Manga Club with its world famous golf courses, sports and leisure facilities. The house is close to the historic cities of Cartagena and Murcia and National Parks with protected wildlife and beautiful mountains and scenery. There are excellent local and national bus and train services so the use of a car is not essential and the surrounding area is very suitable for cycling and for walking too. The Calblanque Nature Reserve is within walking and cycling distance of the house.
A Protected Natural Area since 1987 and Nature Reserve since 1992, Calblanque is an amalgamation of wonderful sand beaches, sandbanks, arid hills, cliff tops and salt flats all of great ecological value.
This Nature Reserve represents one of the last untouched areas along the Mediterranean coastline. There is a car parking area, an information booth, a camping area and a list of recommended routes. |
