Area Information
Rhodes is the largest island in the group known as the Dodecanese. It is the 3rd largest island in Greece and is positioned south east of the mainland close to the coastline of Turkey. Its positioning makes it popular with sun worshippers as the island is said to enjoy more days of sunshine than any in the Med. Kalathos Village is a little known village on the south east coast of Rhodes and just a few minutes from the historic, whitewashed village of Lindos. Kalathos is set approximately 500 meters inland from a long beach which has remained unspoiled and sparsely populated. A small selection of amenities can be found within the village itself, whilst several restaurants and tavernas can be found on the way down to and on the beach. The house itself is perfectly situated for peace and quiet and privacy but only a short stroll down to the beach and bars. The plus point of this village is that it retains its charm through out the summer and winter, unlike some villages which transform into a tourist trap during the summer months. As the house is on an extremely quiet road you will only see tourists of you go down into the village itself.
