One of the main goals behind this house was to build a house that utilized the newest technology available for building a house. In Canmore the vast majority of houses are built using traditional stick framing techniques which have been used for decades. The stick framing was a cheap way of producing a house but is not very energy efficient or durable. This might be OK for a cheap house with a limited life span but should not be used for a multi million dollar house that you would hope will last for generations. |
