| Where is Elviria?
If you are unfamiliar with Elviria Hills then you're in for a surprise. Elviria is a countryside retreat, just 20 minutes from the heart of Marbella, covered in lush green vegetation. In recent times it has become most famous for its golf courses and the fact that Julio Inglesis has a home there. In fact, the El Vicario urbanisation is just a 5 minute drive from Santa Maria Golf course. There is a small commercial centre at the base of the hill with Super Sol, Euro Market and Open Cor (part of El Corte Inglais chain) supermarkets. There are also a number of smaller shops, bars and restaurants.
Various Elviria Hills urbanisations are situated in the hills above the main town, approximately 10 minutes away by car. On the winding road up to El Vicario there are breathtaking views of the Mediterannean Sea. On a clear day you can even see the Rock of Gibraltar.
Five years ago there was very little up here apart from La Marena, a small settlement at the very top of the hill. Now there is the famous El Soto development along with one or two others that are being constructed presently.
It is an amazingly quiet area, with the only traffic being local residents. If you value peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of Marbella then Elviria is the ideal place to be. If you like the idea of living in a peaceful area within easy reach of Marbella town centre, then Elviria Hills is the place for you! |
