Area Information |
| Tre-haidd is a unique barn conversion, with a range of buildings, set in approximately 1.5 acres around a shared farmyard. It is situated up a leafy lane, on the edge of the picturesque hamlet of Cwmpengraig which has a river, chapel, phone and post box. The valley is heavily wooded and full of footpaths, rivers and bridleways, and there's a newly finished equestrian trail nearby.
It is a 2 minute drive to Drefach-Felindre with a late opening Spar, hairdresser, post office and two pubs. Further afield, it's a 10 minute drive to the small market town of Newcastle Emlyn with English language schools, shops, leisure centre, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Beaches, Cardigan/Carmarthen/M4 and mainline station are all a half hour drive away.
Newly converted, with 4 bedrooms and two big open plan reception rooms, this is an exceptional property, unique in its design and with unlimited character and charm. The house is highly insulated and benefits from solar gain as there are two big doors and several windows facing south with balcony and lovely views.
It is unusual in being upside down with living rooms upstairs to make the most of views, light and high ceilings. The property has oil fired central heating (underfloor and cast iron radiators) and a wood burning stove in the sitting room. It's all double glazed and has numerous velux windows.
The neighbours (family with 3 children) live in the farmhouse nearby and there are another two smaller barns that they use for their work, visitors and storage. Their property does not overlook Tre-haidd and even the gardens are completely private.
