Filey (pop approx. 7000) is 7mls south of Scarborough on the North Yorkshire Coast. The North Yorkshire Moors are 12mls to the north and the Yorkshire Wolds 5mls to the south-west. Leisure opportunities such as fishing, climbing, birdwatching, diving, cycling, walking, surfing etc. etc. abound in the area. Filey is pretty quiet and has a very low crime rate - burglary, vandalism and car theft are almost unheard of Filey does get quite busy in the holiday season but it's a family holiday resort - no lager louts!
