| Afitos is a beautiful, picturesque settlement, placed at the peninsula of Kassandra, the first foot of Chalkidiki (Northern Greece). Lying at the top of a rock, faces proudly the wonderful sea of Toroneos Gulf, representing a really endued place with infinite natural beauty.

However, the traditional settlement of Afitos comprises a significant sight by its own, with a history going back to the 8 century b.C.. The village’s traditional character
makes it to become a unique place among the whole Chalkidiki.
In few words, the village of Afitos, with the traditional architecture of the houses and the wonderful stone-paved alleys, in addition to the position of the settlement above the cliff like a castle overlooking the sea, gives the impression of an Aegean island.
Afitos is located 86 km. southeastern from Thessaloniki. Thessaloniki is the second largest city of Greece, in which stands the international airport ‘Makedonia’, while also the railway station and the seaport terminal with a variety of routes from and to many Greek and International destinations.
The road network from Thessaloniki to Chalkidiki stands at an excellent condition and is constantly improved. The trip by car from the city of Thessaloniki to Afitos lasts about 1 hour, while from the airport ‘Makedonia’ to Afitos lasts about 45 minutes. |
