This luxury tropical home which was completed in 2008 is located only minutes drive from Santa Teresa and the beautiful white sand beaches that are famous for their year round surfing. The one acre  property is set in lush jungle and overlooks an enchanting 'quebrada' (seasonal river) that forms the boundaries on three sides. The grounds are laid out over a number of terraces leading down to the river, these were designed to merge sympathetically with their natural surroundings, and to retain the original hardwood trees on the land and the monkey 'corridors'.   The garden is stocked with many local tropical plant varieties, banana, guava, coconut, ilang ilang and mango trees, and the hardwoods include wild cashew, Cenizaro, and Pochote. For 6 months of the year the garden is filled with the intoxicating scent of the white ginger flower. 

Both the main and guest house were designed in the vernacular modern tropical style of the area, and were built to the highest construction standards with each stage of the build overseen by the exacting owner. Built over two levels the main  house stands in a magical setting, with the wrap round terrace becoming the most amazing viewing platform of the abundant wildlife in the area. One does not have to move from the terrace to observe (and hear) the howler and white faced monkeys harvesting wild cashews in and around the garden, Iguana's, Coati's, the occasional deer and numerous red squirrels scurrying to and fro across the jungle canopy. For the bird lover, the most incredible daily display of toucans, hummingbirds, falcons, trogons, motmots, woodpeckers, cuckoos, heron and numerous other bird varieties. At 100 feet above sea level the house is also noticeably cooler in the dry season. And of fundamental importance this property has it's own plentiful natural water supply.

The main house distribution is as follows:

Ground Floor

Lovely foyer with custom made cedar entrance doors, guest half bathroom and hand constructed cedar stairway leading to the second level.
Continuing from the foyer you enter the living and dining area (60 sq. m) with chef designed open plan kitchen equipped with professional Italian hob and oven, double stainless steel fridge/freezer, hand crafted Terrazzo counter tops and built in cedar cupboards and drawers. The Laundry room equipped with washer and separate dryer is off the kitchen. 
Hand constructed French doors lead from the living and dining area onto the 50 sq. m wrap round covered terrace and stunning 12.5 m lap pool, all overlooking the enchanting 'Quebrada' (seasonal river).

First Floor
The hand constructed cedar stairway leads to a large landing and corridor with vaulted exposed beamed ceilings and continues the theme of the polished white concrete flooring.
The second guest bedroom is located at the top of the stairs. This is a lovely room with hardwood teak floors and French doors leading to a small balcony with stunning views of the garden, river and pool. The large en suite bathroom with beautiful walk in shower, double modern vanity unit with hand crafted under counter cedar cupboards and drawers (also housing a small safe) has imported crushed coral tiling throughout .
The Master bedroom situated at the end of the corridor has a delightful garden aspect with  beautiful 'picture' windows and hardwood teak flooring. The lovely bathroom, again with a large walk in shower, double modern vanity unit,  hand crafted under counter cedar cupboards and drawers ( housing a small safe), imported crushed coral tiling throughout also has a large custom built cedar linen cupboard.
Next to the bathroom is a good sized dressing room.
All the bedrooms have A/C and ceiling fans. All the windows and doors are hand crafted in cedar. The windows have 1930's reclaimed brass fittings, imported from USA.

Attached to the house is a large covered Car Port of 25 sq. m with a good sized lock up storage area where the back up generator system and electric hot water tank are located.

There are separate electric meters for both the main house and guest house. Each house has its own telephone line.

The water for the property is provided by an abundant well situated at the bottom of the garden. This is then pumped up to a concrete constructed under ground holding tank (15,000 litres) which then feeds  both houses using a pressure pump.

Guest House 62 sq.m

This is a charming single level house that has been constructed to the same high standard as the main house, with vaulted exposed teak beamed ceilings and  polished white concrete flooring inlaid with cedar.
