About this 4 - Cottage

Limewalk Cottage is a gorgeous 500 year old thatched cottage set in the older part of Monksilver village, which is in the Exmoor National Park (an area of outstanding natural beauty).  This village is one of the most attractive and sought after within West Somerset and is lovely and peaceful and unspoilt with lots of walks on your doorstep.  The house has recently been re-thatched (Dec 2007). The house is lovely and cosy in the winter with the aga in the kitchen (cooks the best roast ever and cakes to dream of) and the woodlburner set into the large inglenook of  the large lounge.  In summer, due to the thickness of the walls and the one foot thick thatch roof, the house stays wonderfully cool.  Lots of character with exposed beams throughout, 3 large inglenook fireplaces (kitchen, dining area and lounge) and window seats in lounge and dining area. The lovely well stocked cottage garden is totally private with lovely views over the fields. Off street parking for numerous cars.   The house is not listed,.

Bedroom 1 - 5.3m x 4.4m (Double) - Three steps down from the first floor landing this large bedroom has original exposed beams and window to the front with a deep window sill.  Built in cupboard, electic heater and tv point.

Kitchen / Dining Room - 3.7m x 7.16m - Fitted oak kitchen with a range of base units with worktops and quarry tiled splash backs.  Solid fuel aga fitted into former inglenook recess with tiled splash backs.  Quarry tiled floor and exposed beams.  Two windows with side aspect and deep window sills.  Under stairs storage cupboard with exposed wooden door.  The dining area has a magnificent exposed stone inglenook fireplace with open grate and bread oven.  Two windows to the front and side both with window seals.  Exposed beams and quarry tiled floor.  Electric heater.

Bathroom - 2.19m x 3.96m - Four piece bathroom suite in white comprising roll top claw foot bath with period style shower attachment, wash hand basin, low level wc and separate shower cubicle.  Part panelled walls to dado height and quarry tiled floor.  Window to rear

Utility Room - 2.6m x 2.28m - Door and window to the read.  Plumbing for washing machine. Quarry tiled floor.

Garden (approximately 0.2 acre) - The rear of the cottage has a gravelled driveway behind wooden gates which provides off road parking for several cars.  From the driveaway there is a path leading to the back door.  Thre is an aperture between two mature hedgerows leading to the main rear garden - a delightfully enclosed area mainly laid to lawn and bordered with mature hedging.  The garden has a wildlife pond and many shrubs.  There is a metal store shed, a wooden shed and log shed.  There are also wooden gates for trailer access.  The garden offers super views across the village to the church and fields beyond and are delightfully private and secluded.  More photos available if required.  (Just dropped another £20,000 for quick sale)
