| Sannat or more precisely Ta’ Sannat, lies to the south of the island of Gozo. The real beauty of Gozo, apart from its stunning seascape and interior, lies in the villages. The tranquil village of Ta’ Sannat is one of these villages where it seems as if time really does stand still. The locals treasure their peace, proving to be a wonderful respite from the trials and tribulations of everyday life. Ta’Cenc is an expanse of prime interest. Besides the excellent views of the countryside and the sea, there is a great variety of wild plants for the nature lover. The small bay of Mgarr ix-Xini is at the end of the plateau. It is one of Gozo’s best places for diving and the wreck of the once Malta-Gozo ferryboat Xlendi rests on the seabed, a few hundred meteres away from the bay’s outer stretches. Local traditional bars with some famous restaurants compliment this sleepy village. |
