| Beautiful, natural and rural. Carvalho Velho, the hillside village, is a place that does not have property for sale, no joke or exageration! This is a very small community which is thoroughly traditional and a real taste of Portuguese life. If you want to get away from it all you could not find a better location. This is not to say there are no amenities to hand. The village is serviced several times a week by a local vendor selling fresh fruit and veg that is locally grown, if you like organic food then you will love the local produce!
The next village, a five minute drive, has cafes, a restaurant, a small supermarket and a weekly market. It is also within easy reach of the IP3 which links you to Viseu or Coimbra which is the Portuguese University town.
There are local natural attractions such as historic and religious sites, an abundance of river beaches, some with cafes, some with bars...and if you can find it a local waterfall and picnic spot. Its up to you to discover! |
