About this 2 - End of Terrace

A charming end of terrace character house with many original features, including an inglenook fireplace, range fireplace, flagstone flooring, original oak staircases, oak beams, and oak flooring.

Easy walking distance (2 minutes) to all town amenities.

Ground floor - entrance hall, two large receptions rooms and a good size kitchen
First floor - hallway with two large double bedrooms and bathroom
Second floor - two attic rooms with sloping ceilings. Ideal for an office, playroom or storage
Patio & garden - 20 x 60 feet, south facing and private, large patio with brick built BBQ leading onto a long level lawn. With side entrance.

The three adjoining terraced houses were once a single dwelling, called the Olde Hall, one of the oldest buildings in Builth Wells. It was originally a single storey construction, said to be built from the stones of the ruined Builth Wells castle in the 16th Century.

The outer ground floor walls are of the traditional double wall with rubble fill type, around 60 cms thick. The second floor was added in the Edwardian era, giving the house its current frontspeice look.

Reception 1
A lovely, large room coming off the entrance hall and leading through to the kitchen. Plenty of room for a dining table, a couple of sofas, piano, sideboard, music centre and beer / wine fridge!

Original flagstone floor, exposed ceiling beams and exposed stonework walls. Window seat, serving hatch to kitchen.

The fireplace is fitted with a York Major range, fully working if you want to keep a fire going in it. It quickly heats up the whole room for a lovely cosy and romantic evening after dinner. Especially charismatic in candle light!

Reception Room 2
The spacious living room comes off the entrance hall and features a large inglenook open fireplace and exposed stonework.

Plenty of room for two or three sofas if required. One fireplace alcove has built in bookshelves, there is a small understairs cupboard in the other.

Small office space in the corner, near the original front door, not currently in use.
The floor is recently laminated.

Kitchen
A large, south facing room with two windows and French doors overlooking the patio. Spanish terracotta tiled floor, exposed beam ceiling.

Plenty of mosaic tiled worktop space, fitted wall and base units, plumbing for washing machine, dishwasher and mains gas cooker. Gas fired Worcester combination boiler.

A great kitchen for families and parties.

Bedroom 1
A large L shaped double bedroom with original oak flooring and some oak panelling.

A bright, south facing room, looking out onto the garden.

Walk in coat cupboard and second built in small cupboard with shelving.

Bedroom 2
A large, bright, double bedroom with two windows facing towards the front and side of the house.

Original oak flooring, cast iron fireplace and large fitted cupboard.

Bathroom
A bright, generous sized bathroom with oak flooring and an oak panelled wall.

White bathroom suite with enamel (not plastic!) bath, mixer tap and over bath shower.

Attics
The oak staircase continues to the second floor to two delightful attic rooms, both with skylight windows, sloping ceilings and lots of exposed oak beams.

The smallest attic is ideal for an office space, hobby room, playroom or even a small guest bedroom.

The larger of the two is "L" shaped, larger and with more headroom. Great for a playroom with plenty of storage space in the corners.

Garden
French doors lead out from the kitchen onto a private, suntrap patio with brick built BBQ and charcoal fired tandoor oven, great for entertaining. Garden door to the side path.

A step up from the patio brings you onto to the large, level lawn surrounded by many perennial bushes, shrubs and flowers. The borders are full of bluebells in the spring, the pink cherry blossom comes in May, buddlea and butterflies during the summer and a delightful bronzed umbrella tree in autumn. There is a large crop of blackcurrant this year, also blueberries, tomatoes, quince and wild strawberries.

Complete with garden shed, cold frame, small pond, compost bin and a "Space for Nature" area towards the back.
