Looking for a solid investment that will make a real environmental difference?
Then look no further than this unique opportunity to invest in a ground-breaking conservation project aiming to re-establish endangered species such as black maned lion, wild dog, and black rhino in Southern Africa.
Located in the malaria free Tuli Block in Botswana, just 450km north of Johannesburg, South Africa, the 32,500 hectare (soon to be 50,000 Ha) Limpopo-Lipadi Reserve contains 21km Limpopo River frontage and is one of the largest private wildlife conservation projects in Southern Africa today. Once linked to the greater Trans Frontier Park, the combined expanse will span a staggering 400,000 hectares!
The Limpopo-Lipadi team is currently looking for an exclusive group of just over 150 passionate eco-investors from all over the world to become shareholders in a public Botswana company which owns the Reserve, the luxury lodges situated throughout the Reserve, vehicles, planes and the project itself.
Bringing conservation into the 21st century
In these environmentally aware times, it’s impossible to ignore the massive damage man is imposing on the planet. The threat of climate change raises questions for all of us – from individuals to companies, from countries to continents. And as the environment changes, so many species are being pushed to the brink of extinction.
It is these 21st century challenges which inspire the passionate commitment of the Limpopo-Lipadi conservation project to safeguard Botswana’s natural treasures for future generations. Situated just to the north of South Africa, Botswana is a rich tapestry of stunning landscapes – from the arid Kalahari Desert to grassy savannas, from the tranquillity of the Okavango Delta to the rushing rapids of the Limpopo, Africa’s second largest river.
Shareholder Jacques de Bruin explains how the reserve is setting new benchmarks in environmental management:
“Both my grand father, my father and I have been involved in game reserve projects throughout Southern Africa and none of them had the financial, operational, social and environmental sustainability models in place which Limpopo-Lipadi has. Limpopo-Lipadi is raising the standards for privately owned nature conservation projects in Africa in the 21st century.”
Sustainability is the key to a successful game reserve and Limpopo-Lipadi clearly leads the pack, as was recently demonstrated when it won the much acclaimed international 2007 Homes Overseas Award, for the Best Sustainable Development in the world (http://www.homesoverseas.co.uk/awards/winners2007).
By investing in Limpopo-Lipadi, shareholders can be fully involved in the largest re-establishment of endangered species in Botswana to date. Shareholders can also explore the beauty of the Reserve at their leisure, and invite guests to stay and participate in a wide range of conservation training courses.
But probably more importantly, shareholders will be leaving a legacy and a passion for African wildlife to their children by involving them in the Limpopo-Lipadi bush law experience… This unique mapping system - a first in the history of Game Reserves - will educate the whole family on the seasonal secrets of every eco-system on the Reserve. Getting out to the “farm in Africa” won’t only be about “who sees the first lion?” anymore – but rather - which bush secret will we discover in the Maroela forest this summer, or in the Mopanie veld next winter?
Botswana - Africa’s hidden diamond
Botswana is one of Africa’s little known economic success stories. After independence in 1966, the country’s economy averaged 9% growth a year until 1999. This jaw-dropping economic expansion has been mainly due to Botswana’s thriving diamond industry, which produces the bulk of the country’s exports. Today Botswana has a negligible level of foreign debt and foreign exchange reserves of over $7 billion (2005/2006).
In 2004, both Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s assigned Botswana an “A” grade credit rating, making Botswana by far the best credit risk in Africa and putting it on par with, or above, many countries in central Europe, East Asia and Latin America. In the same year, Botswana was ranked as Africa’s least corrupt country by Transparency International, again ahead of many European and Asian countries. The World Economic Forum rates Botswana as one of the two most economically competitive nations in Africa. Taken together, these credentials make Botswana one of the best, but least known, investment opportunities in the developing world.
Investors in Limpopo-Lipadi will own the full title deed to 6 ultra-luxury air-conditioned lodges (with numerous suites) and luxury camps (with numerous units), all with email, internet and Skype access. The Reserve is 1.5 hour flight from Johannesburg and will have its own airstrip manned by Botswana Passport control. A private airplane is also provided to transport shareholders from Johannesburg to the Reserve. Every 20 shares sold incur an immediate growth in share value of around €10,000 and the shares are expected to sell for over €200,000 by the end of 2008, and close to €300,000 per share in 2009 when the Reserve is promoted in connection with the 2010 South Africa Soccer World Cup. As at January 2008, over 50% of the shares had been sold, the majority having been sold to international shareholders. Botswana abolished foreign exchange controls in 1999, meaning profits and direct investment can be repatriated without restriction.
Make a real environmental difference!
Minimum entry offer to invest in Limpopo-Lipadi is €135,000 per share. Part of the purchase price is put into the Limpopo-Lipadi Trust Fund, which will total at least €14million (R148million) once all the shares have been sold, and will be invested to cover all operational costs resulting in no monthly levies (as per Feb 2008 forecast). The project is due for completion by September 2009, and all potential investors are invited to visit Limpopo-Lipadi before they make any financial commitment.
