| La Montagne is leafy, well established suburb surrounded by the areas of Willow Park and De Wilgers (The Willows). It nestles at the foot of a hillock approximately 15km due East of Pretoria city centre and provides easy access to highways (the N1 and N4 are effortlessly close by), bus routes, shopping malls, restaurants, schools and typical suburban living in Pretoria.
La Montagne and the surrounding suburbs are pretty, with a range of houses, townhouses and flats fairly typical of this well established and more upmarket part of Pretoria. Gardens are large and green with many trees and birds. The suburb is sedate, being far enough out of the city, yet within easy reach of the Capital.
As well as having two parks within walking distance, the National Botanical Gardens are only a few suburbs North West of La Montagne, with 76 hectares of garden. The Faerie Glen Nature Reserve, with a teeming bird life, is just south west of La Montagne and offers one the chance to experience hikes within the city limits that range from 4,5 kilometre to almost 12 kilometre trails.
