A traditional portuguese stone cottage,built in the middle of XIX century, for sale close to Viseu.The cottage does require some modernisation works.
The cottage is set in a quiet village Contenças de Baixo, but it's close to Viseu, a city with all modern requires. Viseu is noted on the arts scene due to the Grão Vasco Museum. Wine making-Dão wines- is an important activiy in the region and is also noted as one of the major urban centers with three higher education institutions.The cottage is also near ''Serra da Estrela'' the highest mountain range in Portugal that offers plentiful skiing oppotunities. A dam is being built in Mondego near the cottage which will offer fun and pleasant activities. It has very good roads. The closest airport is 120kms distanced through A25 road and Viseu is 20km far via IP5.
The cottage has land measuring more than 3500 square meters. The house has three floors, an attic and a cellar. Inside it's all built on stone and wood. Outside, it has a front garden and a back large one too.
The property also have two more stone buildings.A traditional oven which cooks bread and delicious roasted meat and a traditional buiding where women of the region used to wash clothes.The property has many olive and hazelnut trees.
