Ready to live in but needs some internal decoration
This is a traditional Swedish house, located on the outskirts of the village of Flarken, in a very rural location. Positioned on a rough track road at the edge of the village, the closest neighbours to the property are in excess of 100m away. Surrounded by agricultural land all around as can be seen from the photo’s, the large garden is edged with mature trees.
Only £16 999 for quick sale.
The house is a traditional, timber built property with granite block foundation – there is no cellar – and tiled roof. It comes complete with open, corner fireplace and antique, tiled cylinder heater (both in working order), the latter becoming very sought after in original state, as is this one. It has electricity and, unlike some properties in the northern half of Sweden, it has mains water all year round. The property has its own cess-pit which needs emptying only about once a year. Having just been weather-proofed (summer 2008), the exterior of the property itself requires no further work this year.
The mature garden contains wild raspberry and red currant bushes, birch trees, fir trees, a hop vine next to the porch, and houses a large, old shed. However, some landscaping is required as the house has been empty for about 4 years and with the exception of a recent tidy up, no work has been done to the garden. And whilst the interior of the house provides spacious accommodation on the ground floor that is more than adequate for occupation immediately, some internal decoration would improve it and enlarge the living area - which comprises one large bedroom, open plan lounge, kitchen/diner, hallways and bathroom. The first floor of the property is accessed via a stair, but it is currently used for storage and is an open timber 'barn', lovely. It has windows on each side of the house and is weather-proof, but will require a degree of conversion work before it can be used for living space. | This lovely property is located on the edge of the small village of Flarken, which is 6 km from the E4 main route to Umeå in the south and Skellefteå in the north, thus ensuring excellent transport links as both major towns have airports.
There are various lakes in the area for boating, swimming and fishing in summer, skating and ice-fishing in winter. Hunting in this area is also good, with regular visits from elk, bear etc. throughout the year. Skiing is a much enjoyed hobby in this area, with the ski resort of Bygdsiljum being approx. 13km away and open throughout the winter - a day's ski and snowboard pass costs a little over the equivalent of £10.00.
A local diy store can be found in the village itself with nearest supermarkets being located in nearby Ånäset (5km) and Robertsfors (12km). The nearest schools are also located in these towns, with Robertsfors also housing local dentist, doctors and small hospital. Bus services are also available from both towns to nearby airport towns (about an hour's journey.) Plenty of people around if you need them, plenty of teenagers who are polite and not at all like British teens.Sweden is a lovley place to lie, good employment rospects if you are willing to do anything, lots of friendly people.
There is no crime here.
Amazing seasonal changes and the most empty roads! |
