| Nessebar is a beautiful place where history lives on in the present time, where nature created a harmonious natural environment long ago. It is situated in the south of the lower slopes of the ancient Hemus Mountain (today’s Stara Planina), which gradually descend to the Black Sea - at Cape Emine the mountain’s slope right into the water. There are unique sand dunes and rare plants of all kinds. The beautiful wide beaches covered by fine golden sand and waves gently lap on the seashore. The town is on UNESCO`s list Of World Cultural Heritage sites .There is also plenty of sunshine - around 2100-2200 hours a year.
This marvellous creation of nature and man working in harmony enjoys an historical architectural inheritance. The old part of the town still retains its original romantic atmosphere and charm, with narrow cobblestone lanes, tiny squares, houses with stone-built ground levels and wooden upper floors with external staircases jutting above the streets. There is a yacht harbour, gift shops, pubs, tavern and lovely flower gardens.
The area has wide range of tourist attractions and leisure activities. There are restaurants offering delicious food, providing culinary pleasures and a good atmosphere, taverns with folklore shows, night clubs, pubs, casino, discos and cafes. It is a haven for photographers and a perfect place for picnics. You can visit Bulgarian villages which offer local folklore demonstrations and fire-dances. There are also a number of sports activities such as golf, bowling and snooker, carting, an aqua-park, and horse-riding. You can also enjoy mountain safari by jeeps, boat trips to many exclusive places, trips and walks to the surrounding parks and other exotic places! There are wonderful conditions for water sports here also - wind surfing, water skiing and parachuting, sailing, yachting, jet skis, hang-gliding banana boats and rowboats There are also tennis courts, beach volleyball, playgrounds, a skittle alley, fitness halls.
Nessebar is located 36 km away from Bourgas and its International Airport. It is 427 km from the Bulgarian capital - Sofia. It is also very close (5 km) to the pearl of Bulgaria’s seaside towns - the well known beach resort of Sunny Beach. |
