| Aegina it’s a bright, really beautiful, and full of history island. There is something seductive, almost magic in the island’s atmosphere, making it a unique and generous place.
The main advantage is its proximity to Athens. It is only 40 min away from the port of Piraeus with a flying dolphin, or 1h to1h and 15min with a car ferry (depends on the vessel), with really frequent service, but still has all the benefits of a Greek island:
Clean crystalline waters, sandy beaches, taverns, pine trees, no traffic lights, a slower, more easy-going way of life, fresh fish or vegetables from local fishermen and producers, friendly people, unspoiled spots for swimming etc. Someone can enjoy living all of these and much more and still be so close to a big capital city like Athens, with everything that means for his convenience.
Those combinations make a house in Aegina ideal for a seasonal or even better a permanent residence.
Vagia is lying at the feet of the hill that nestles Aphaia temple built in the 5th century BC. Located to the NE side of the island the village is facing north, so during summer time when north winds (meltemi) blows, keeps the temperature low. It’s about 12 Km from the port of Aegina and 10 min driving from Agia Marina, the island’s main tourist resort. There are pine trees, a little sandy beach just 200m away of the development and many more places for swimming a little further, a grocery, few taverns and a super market 5min driving away.
The village is calm and quiet and it is offering a relaxing way of life with a mild climate, at a really economic cost. |
